Children &
Participation
play / collective creation / workshops / participatory practice
Children have long been an important part of my creative practice.
I am drawn to the immediacy of their visual thinking — the freedom to create before rules, conventions and aesthetic expectations begin to dominate perception.
Through participatory workshops and collective interventions, I have explored situations in which children are not recipients of a finished concept, but active authors of the visual environment around them.
Play, intuition and spontaneous decision-making become methods of creation.
Children create before they learnwhat they are supposed to see.
- Collective painting / spatial intervention
- Object / upcycling workshop
These participatory situations form an early part of my continuing interest in childhood perception, visual freedom and the role of the audience as an active participant in the creation of meaning.
